Long weekend…and travel again!

The first long weekend of the year is almost here, and I am off travelling again.

This may be THE gig for my band and me! :) *sigh* I am going to miss my camera!

Where the Mind is Without Fear

-(from Tagore’s “Gitanjali“, verse 35)

Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high;

Where knowledge is free;

Where the world has not been broken up
into fragments by narrow domestic walls;

Where words come out from the depth of truth;

Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection;

Where the clear stream of reason
has not lost its way into the dreary desert sand of dead habit;

Where the mind is led forward by thee into ever-widening thought and
action—

Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake.

Feeling a bit patriotic today.
(Also from today’s post on one of my e-groups. )

Every once in a while I wake up feeling happy. Really happy. No weird dreams, no worries, just a hot cup of tea with a spoonful of honey in it. Perfect. And then somewhere during the day I end up asking myself the same stupid-ass questions ..

What am I doing here?
What am I doing with my life?

Then I drink 4 cups of tea in the next 30 minutes, get a sugar buzz, play flute like CRAZY for 30-45 minutes, watch Friends, call people and share my disillusionment, surf all news sites, read the Economist, WSJ, IMF, WTO, listen to hindustani classical music and go to sleep. I wake up the next day, tired from all the silliness from the day before.

Its Monday, but I am SO tired today.

Oh, in other news, I watched Shrek and Main Hoon Nah over the weekend.

This is my world!

We all live in this private world. No connections, no links, no intrusions and a silent spectacle of the world passing us by, with a ring-side view only we can enjoy. Sounds great, doesnt it?

I am in a similar world, where I define everything, things I like, don’t like, eat, cook, watch, observe, drink, gulp, breathe, exhale, feel, experience, work, drive, listen, hear, code, play… its perfect. And then once in a while I come out of it to admire it and try and make it better, that’s when everything falls apart! How many times will it take for me to realize that this is just a house of Playboy cards? (Damn those enticing bunny pictures!)

I also want to share it with you. And not because I have to, but because I want to. The universe is fragile, and in my heart I am hope you are a gentle breeze not a strong gust of wind.

What insurance do you use? I have AllState and it has worked great for me. However i recently saw the ads for GEICO. You should check them out. Here are a few things to note about insurance and how to bring the rates down

1. Prevent theft of your vehicle: Keep your vehicle locked at all times. Roofs/ windows / everything.

2. Park in well-lit areas and never leave valuables inside the car.

3. Install the anti-theft devices. I have an alarm, but people also use low-jack.

4. Do not leave registration in the car. Thieves can get away by showing the registration :)
5. Take safe routes to your destination even if might be longer.

6. Have the VIN etched on your car windows.

Agencies like GEICO provide safety measures to protect their consumers and prevent fraud. Get in the gear and save your vehicle. In some states you will be directed to one of our trusted partners for a rate in you area and cheap car insurance quote. There is another site that provides comparizon quotes: CarInsurance.com. So check them out.
